Part of the problem I have with the process is the power conferences


don't play enough games against each other. So when the Committee decides to vote 3 or 4 from the same conference (doesn't matter which one) and give more weight to the wins/losses among those teams, then it begins the question whether the Committee is right about its assumption that particular conference (or division) is the strongest this year vs. the potential that the conference (or division) may be top heavy as may be the case with the Big Ten East Division this year. If the power conferences are playing 3 or 4 (preferably 1 from each conference), then it at least gives everyone a better idea of how the conferences stack up against each other instead of relying on 1 (or handful of games at most) to potentially be the deciding factor on which 4 teams are in and which teams are out.
